Costa Rica

Located in the Central American Isthmus, it borders Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south, the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. 
Despite its small size, the country accounts for about 6% of the world’s biodiversity. Its natural richness, both in species and in ecosystems, is explained in part by its geographical position. Thus, the system of National Parks and Reserves covers 25.6% of the country's surface. In addition, it is a very mountainous country with several peaks of more than 3,000 m., including the Irazú volcano.
The culture of Costa Rica is varied by having influences initially from indigenous and European culture, later from Afro-Caribbean and Asian culture. Costa Rica is a mestizo country, in which very diverse social communication systems coexist, ranging from the Limonese Creole to uses and customs of Iberian origin, passing through cultures and ways of thinking as dissimilar as the Chinese, the indigenous or the Mennonite.
