The Spanish labour market exceeds for the first time the level of 22.5 million members of Social Security

The Spanish labor market has surpassed 22.5 million members for the first time in history, according to daily Social Security membership records, reaching the figure of 22,541,234 members as of June 15. A new month, job creation in Spain remains at record highs, after adding 165,075 jobs so far in June and 651,082 in the last year.
The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz: “We have once again broken a record of employment: we exceeded 22.5 million people in the workforce. Once again, we obtain an historical fact that until recently seemed unattainable and that demonstrates, once again, the great transformation that our labor market has experienced since the labor reform and that is concretized in more and better employment for all”
In seasonally adjusted terms - discounted seasonality and calendar effect - the records show an increase of 80,561 participants in the variation of the last two fortnights. This puts the Social Security membership at 22,162,335 members, which means a year-on-year growth of 576,292 employees.
According to these data, the membership has grown by 1,321,931 employed since December 2023 and by 2,404,093 since December 2021, before the entry into force of the labor reform.
