Belgium
Belgium is a country marked by its cultural plurality. The differences in language and culture that have led the country to evolve from a unitary state to a federal structure, which is composed of Communities and Regions. The country is made up of three Communities: Flemish, French and German, which correspond to specific population groups. Territorially, the competences of each Community are determined by reference to the four linguistic regions: the French-speaking region, the Dutch-speaking region, the German-speaking region and the bilingual Brussels-Capital (French-Dutch) region.
