Equatorial Guinea is the only former Spanish colony in sub-Saharan Africa. Practically all of its inhabitants, especially in urban areas, speak Spanish. 
It is the third largest oil producer in sub-Saharan Africa. Its territory sits on the continental shelf (Continental Region) and on the islands of Bioko - where the capital is located, Malabo - Annobón and those of the Bay of Corisco.
Its culture is a mixture of the artistic manifestations of the different ethnicities and the influence of Spanish culture.
