Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein is a country located in Central Europe, one of the smallest in the world. It is a landlocked state, as it is surrounded by Switzerland to the west and by Austria to the east. Although it does not belong to the European Union, it has been part of the Schengen free movement area since December 2011.
The present Principality of Liechtenstein was in antiquity a territory belonging to the province of Strait, in the Roman Empire. Before the rule of the present dynasty, the region was a fiefdom of one of the main branches of the House of Habsburg. The House of Liechtenstein that currently governs has its origin in the distant Silesia.
There are 347 Spaniards residing in Liechtenstein (as of 1 January 2026).
