Social Security membership remains above the 21.8 million employed in mid-January in seasonally adjusted terms - if seasonality and calendar effect are discounted. Specifically, the figure amounts to 21,862,325 affiliates, after adding 486,278 in the last year. /p>

Employment remains at historically high levels despite the slight decline experienced in the last two fortnights. There are 2,374 participants less as of January 15, 2026. According to these data, the total number of participants has increased by 1,024,782 people in the adjusted series since December 2023 and by 1,570,948 since December 2022, before the entry into force of the labor reform. So, if you compare it to the same date of 2025, it is almost half a million more occupied. For the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, “the data from mid-January confirm that the dynamism of the labor market remains at a very high level, with about half a million members of the Social Security more.”
